Confidence building is not an easy task, especially when it comes to your physical appearance.

It’s not only about dressing gorgeously and getting up at 5 AM to work out, It has so much more to do with the way you think, your attitude, and your daily habits.

Are you someone that constantly pulls out that small mirror from your purse to make sure that every hair is still in place?

Do you tend to rush to the bathroom mirror more than three times just before your leave out?

This is quite common for a lot of us where we often doubt our beauty and need visual reassurance from our reflection in the mirror to satisfy our questions.

Whilst nothing is essentially wrong with doing these things, the constant urge to check up on our appearance so frequently is not entirely a good thing.

It’s time for us to get comfortable with visualizing our beauty internally, and know that we look good without confirmation from others or a mirror every few minutes.

Don’t get me wrong, we girlies definitely need to carry a mirror around to ensure that the food we eat doesn’t get stuck between our teeth, etc.

#1 Let The Weather Choose Your Hairstyles

Alongside having some influence on your mood and your emotions, the weather can also have a huge impact on the way you look.

Just like you would choose wisely about the clothes you wear in the wintertime, by probably not wearing a tank top and biker shorts, the hairstyle you choose to wear in different weather conditions should also be a well-informed decision too.

Why spend hours, the night before, straightening your hair only for it to frizz up and stick onto your forehead due to rain?

Why get up an hour and thirty minutes earlier in the morning to puff out your hair into a huge Afro, just to have it shrink down because of how humid it is outside.

Please, take the time to think about the hairstyles you decide to wear in certain weather conditions.

Not only will this active decision prolong the health of your hair, but you will look 100% neater, refined, and put together when you start paying attention to these simple ways of enhancing your beauty and boosting your confidence.

Yes, I get it.

You don’t want to waste the makeup that you’ve purchased to get all glammed up for no apparent reason.

Why should you spend time to be “extra” with your appearance today, when you could wait to attend that special event next week?

Believe it when I say that, putting on a nice, pretty dress, doing your hair and makeup, is an instant way to feel good even when lounging casually around your home.

Making this into a regular habit will for sure have a lot of positive aspects on your self-esteem and your lifestyle.

Now, you’ll easily be able to answer the door and collect your delivery without rushing to clothed yourself in something decent.

Slowly and gradually, you’ll start to feel so confident and hyped up about your appearance that you will no longer need to pull out that small mirror from your purse to make sure that you still look divine.

 

#3 Get Those Vitamins And Minerals In

I truly had no idea how important taking vitamins and health supplements were until I was told by my doctor that I was Vitamin D deficient.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that a lack of vitamins will only affect you physiologically in regards to feeling tired and feeling demotivated.

There are also physical changes that come with neglecting your body from nutrients and not taking vitamins.

I, specifically, only went to the doctors after seeing a sore at the corner of my mouth which I was then told was a result of not getting enough sunlight.

Your physical health and mental health play such an important part in how confident you are with yourself.

Knowing that you are taking care of yourself and treating your body with care, will drastically decrease the number of times you doubt your beauty when in the presence of others and also when you’re alone.

 

#4 You Shouldn’t Be At War With Your Clothing!

In other words, make sure that your clothes fit.

Well...Duh!

Yes, this might seem so obvious to you but there are so many people who wear clothing that just doesn't make them feel comfortable or assured with their appearance at a particular moment.

I've started to notice this a lot with women and girls who wear skirts.

Staying still, their outfits look great and gorgeous.

But as soon as they start walking, their skirts begin to ride up their legs and then they fall into this constant battle of pulling down their skirts every few seconds.

This has been me.

After a while, this becomes exhausting and you start to feel insecure and not confident with the way you look, constantly looking at your reflection on the side of the bus or on cars so that you can adjust your outfit to how it should look like.

It’s time to get to that point where looking in the mirror is a moment in which we admire our beauty, rather than always correcting it.

 

#5 Don’t Let Your Subconscious Ruin Your Self Image

Don’t get used to seeing yourself look unkempt and scruffy.

Although we can’t look our absolute best all day every day, it should never get to a point where we become so used to seeing ourselves with minimal effort, we begin to feel queasy and on edge when we do take the time to dress up and care about our appearance.

Don’t ever let your subconscious mind lie to you and deceive you to ruin habits of self-care.

 

#6 Pay Close Attention To Your Face

Well...not too close where you feel the need to alter it completely, but to rather accentuate and emphasize those gorgeous features of your face.

To many people, the face is an instant deciding factor of your beauty, meaning that it will be under constant scrunity and a lot of judgement from others and also from you, yourself.

Sometimes that judgement you get is good and you feel self-satisfied with the way you look. Other times, that judgement is bad and you feel insecure. Most people have faced both.

To one set of people, your appearance is a breath of fresh air, but to another set of people you look average and there’s nothing interesting to see at first glance.

Nevertheless, because the face is one part of the body that is almost impossible to hide and conceal, this makes it so important for us to not neglect.

Paying close attention to your face means, finding the right skincare products with the right ingredients to truly give your face that radiant glow.

It means finding the right shades of colours to make those key features of your face (the lips, eyes, and teeth) look absolutely captivating.
