5 Simple Ways Every Girl Can Get Ready For The New Year

5 Simple Ways Every Girl Can Get Ready For The New Year

Right before the start of another year, we dream and plan mercilessly about the things we would like to accomplish in the upcoming year.

We get super excited and overjoyed with the thoughts of what doors of success will start to open for us, and we get super thrilled about how we can become that dream girl in our heads.

Although it’s really self-soothing and motivating to plan for our futures…let’s try not to overdo it this new year with the endless lists of goals and commitments, and then get burnt out halfway along the way.

We DeFiNitEly DoN’t WaNt ThAt…

So with that being said, here are 5 easy ways to prepare for a successful year.

Let’s Dive In :)

Take Time To Reflect

As I’ve said before in my ‘How To Focus On Yourself And Become Her Again’ blog post, progressing yourself into a future full of successes means analyzing past events, whether positive or negative and learning from them.

This is exactly why I decided to create these 3 effective lists for reflection in order to get us both ready for the new year.

List 1: “Things You’ve Achieved vs Things That Didn’t Go Too Well”

Describe what you achieved and then write down what you didn’t achieve.

Ask yourself if your “failures” are things you can potentially change into successes.

If not, it’s time to accept and move on.

List 2: “One Major Takeaway From The Year”

Even if the year you had was a story filled with ups, downs, and crazy plot twists.

Explain what you thought the moral of the story was. What exactly did you learn?

This might sound incredibly silly due to how obvious it is…but for me, it was definitely the realization that taking things at a slow pace keeps me calmer.

What about you?

List 3: “The Steps I Will Take To Continue Becoming The Best Version Of Myself”

Now, this is where you create a new set of goals using your past successes and failures as a guideline.

Set daily, weekly and monthly habits for yourself, and don’t you dare forget to write down your boundaries so that you know where to draw the line when it comes to others…and even when it comes to yourself.

Small But Life-Changing Habits For The New Year

#1 Simplify Your Skincare And Beauty Routine

This will make it easier to acknowledge which ingredients work amazingly with your skin and which products work together to maximize the beauty of your skin.

Not to mention the fact that you’ll be saving a lot more money when you decide to become more intentional with your shopping, researching each product to make sure that your investments are worthwhile.

Apart from your skincare regime, find that one top-tier scent and fragrance that truly sums you up so that you always step out smelling divine and feeling ready to take on every moment of the new year.

Amazing Scents To Try:

#2 Read More Non-Fiction Books

I think it was last month when I scrolled on the amazon app and accidentally purchased a 6-month kindle unlimited subscription.

Believe me when I say I was incredibly annoyed with myself especially after cancelling and realizing that I won’t get a refund.

But Anyhoo…

I decided to experiment and see what books it had to offer and that’s where I surprisingly realised the joy of non-fiction books.

I slowly became mesmerized by others’ journeys and their path to confidence and dealing with things like imposter syndrome and low self-esteem.

It was all really inspiring and motivating, to say the least.

#3 Listen To More Early Morning And Night Time Podcasts

Back when I was in high school, it really didn’t take much for me to wake up in the mornings, and it really didn’t matter what time I went to bed either.

But now being in sixth form, it has truly become a challenge.

So to help myself with this issue, I like to listen to a podcast one hour before actually having to get out of bed.

My personal favourite is ‘7 Good Minutes, Daily Self-Improvement with Cylde Lee Dennis’. A perfect listen in the morning and at night too.

#4 Take A Break From It All

I’m thinking of taking the new month of January to really focus on myself and declutter my life.

It’s simply perfect especially since January is my birthday month 😁

I really want to use that month to fast from negative people, social media, and even the news, and dare I say, politics.

What will you be using the first month of the new year to do?

#5 Learn A Little Bit More About General Topics

This self-improvement and productive habit will truly benefit us when it comes to conversing with new people and making friendly talks.

So why not brush up a little on your geography, learn more about different cultures and even about history.

Things To Invest In, To Prepare For The New Year

I’ve never actually done any sort of new years’ shopping. It’s never been a big deal to me, especially in comparison to September's back-to-school shopping.

But…

I do know how motivating it can be to go into stores and find different products to assist you with your new beginnings.

So down below are some must-have products that will be immensely useful to you and me on this journey. Let’s see…

  • A Journal (of course!)

The journal I keep is by no means traditional. It really can be hard to prioritize time to write daily entries of what happens in my day-to-day life.

So instead, my journal is literally filled with little lists. Whether that's a list of how I want to improve my blog for my readers, to cool new recipes to try, and pretty outfits to create.

Do your journal however you want to but definitely get one for the new year if you don't already own one.

  • At least 2 New Books To Read:

Again, it feels extremely motivating and productive going into a bookstore and spending a good 30 minutes scavenging through the shelves and reading the blurbs until you finally find your soulmate.

I tend to read on my phone so this is definitely something I want to start doing more often, especially when it comes to romance novels and recipe books :)

  • A Calender

  • A To-Do List Planner

  • A Budget Planner:

So that you can finally tidy up your basket full of subscriptions to a handful of subscriptions that you’ll actually use :) Whether that’s paying for ways that you can learn a new skill or improve on a previous skill or talent, or perhaps a streaming platform such as Amazon Prime or Netflix. Let me tell ya, you need a saving and budget planner for the upcoming year!

  • An Updated Skincare Kit

Well, That’s It, Folks

Thank you so much for reading this blog post. I really hope that you enjoyed it. Don’t forget to subscribe down below for more posts on feminine beauty and self-improvement. Tell me what you think in the comments below. See ya :)
